Cowboy Bachelor Auction to Raise Funds for Scholarships

If you’re looking for a fun event to attend that’s for a good cause, you may want to check out the Horsemen of All Ages Bachelor Auction, a fundraiser to support scholarships for young people through The Race for Education.

The sale, featuring 16 eligible bachelors and bachelorettes, will take place on Friday, September 16th at Lexington’s Red Mile Racetrack’s historic Floral Round Barn. Each bachelor and bachelorette will be auctioning off a date to raise money to fund scholarships for high school, college and equine veterinary students with significant financial need in agriculture or the equine industry. This will be the third year in which the auction has been held.

Mandy Roberts, communications coordinator for The Race for Education, told us, “While it’s not primarily focused on one particular genre, like western, we do have Lyndsey Jordan, a two-time reining champion participating as well as Chance Timm, a past bull rider. We also have Ravi Moss, a former UK basketball player as well as famed jockeys, Julien Leparoux and Chris McCarron participating.”

TOPSINLEX is also featuring the event in their August issue, with 18 pages dedicated to The Horsemen of All Ages Sale highlighting bachelor pictures and bios.  Polls are now open for the Lexington community to show their support by voting online for their favorite bachelor or bachelorette at www.topsinlex.com. By placing an online vote, it automatically enters participants in a chance to win free tickets to a private meet and greet with the bachelors before the event.

The event is expected to be a lot of fun with an anticipated audience of over 300. Tickets (on sale now) are $100 per person, and will include entry to the event, food and beverages. A “couples-focused” silent auction will be open throughout the evening as well. To purchase tickets can call the office at (859) 252-8648, Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm and visit www.raceforeducation.org.
