Buckaroo Leather Quick Change Tack [Product Review]

| March 15, 2011 | 59 Comments

Buckaroo Leather has impressed me yet again with their high quality tack! Do you get frustrated when you need to change a bit out? I know that I do, primarily because I take one look at those stiff leather tie straps on my headstall/rein ends and I groan inside. Those ties are never easy to undo, especially when they’ve been knotted up for a while. In fact, if you watched my video review above (you should if you haven’t yet) you’ve already heard that I actually needed assistance removing my bit from the other headstall prior to filming, because the straps were so tight. Yikes!

So I tried out the Quick Change headstall/rein set from Buckaroo Leather and I was blown away. No, seriously, I was blown away. I’ve been riding horses since I was 13. Never once have I used a quality leather bridle that allowed me to change out the bit this quickly. It was fantastic! The “quick change” ends slipped out and around the bit, reattaching in a matter of seconds. It was a no brainer. (In fact, I’d go as far as to quote the Geico commercials…”So easy a caveman can do it!”) Can you tell I’m excited about this product?! :-)

This looks like a great bit of ingenuity! I can see how this would be beneficial in two ways here at my barn: First, for my fingers with arthritis setting in, and second, for my daughter who’s fingers don’t appear to have the strength to pull traditional fastenings apart when she needs to change bits.

I already have the quick change reins for breaking my colt. The halter looks like a great idea. Right now I have one that ties and sometimes I’m nervous about losing that knot and something goin wrong. I have a two year old and the least amount of problems the best haha.

This would come in quite handy with 14 horses

My big crazy Missouri Fox Trotter mare Miss Nikki would love me to use this instead of fussing and worrying her while i mess with tack- she sure would enjoy our trail rides a lot more and so would i

I would LOVE to have tack that I could change out quickly without having to spend 10 minutes hassling with it. At shows, I have been in situations where I have had to switch bits quickly and it would be so much easier if I didn’t have to spend alot of time doing it.

Switching from different disciplines, because I’m BiSaddular, this is a great piece of tack. Not only to change bits, but reins also. Brilliant, a must in the tack room.

This is one nice piece of equipment that any horse person would love to have! This would really come in handy at our arena, where we always have people riding our horses and changing tack. I could probably sell these like hotcakes.

I Think I should win on of these because I have like three different horses sharing a bridle and I need to change the bit every time and it is not just me that has to do it. sometimes I am so busy that I have to have the students switch it and that can be hard for them to do. I really love the quick change tack! Thank you for having this contest! :D
